We are a practice interested in designing spaces for playing, spaces for living and spaces which improve the ecology of the landscape.

The challenge of any design is to create a space with individuality. Our design services is tailored to your personal requirements. We take time to understand the needs of the space and the layers which affect the design processes.

We create designs which are sensitive, only interrupting the landscape with forms and structures which play a part in framing and capturing the design.

Our aim is to deliver a design which is functional and engaging. To design spaces which are fun and healing.

Build

All builds are overseen and managed by Richard Day, founder and MD of Earthcraft.

The individuals within the teams are highly trained, qualified landscapers. All team members are punctual and well presented.

Prior to a build commencing, a brief will be supplied to the client detailing the stages of the project. Regular meetings will take place to ensure work runs to your requirements.

At all times a design board comprising of drawings and quote are on site, allowing all working on the build to have access to detailed information. This ensures all builds are completed to the highest standard. All builds are covered by a one year guarantee.

Planting

There are many styles of planting. At Earthcraft, we believe that it is important for planting designs to concentrate on visual effect rather than a collection of numerous botanical plants - unless the design of the garden is specifically botancial.

The designers at Earthcraft study closely where the garden or landscape is located, the style of building(s) and of course the hard landscape design. Following this study a planting plan is devised. As each garden or landcape is very different, no two planting plans are the same.

Earthcraft sources plants from many specialised nurseries here in the UK. Great care is taken when selecting plant material to ensure the highest quality is supplied.

Once planting is completed, specific feeds are applied to assist and stimulate growth. Planting areas are finally mulched with a specific blended mulch by Earthcraft.

All planting by Earthcraft is covered by a one year guarantee.

 
 

Lighting

Lighting is an integral part of any design from a small courtyard garden to a larger landscape. At Earthcraft, we carefully consider how we incorporate lighting into any design. Your garden lighting can illuminate an area for entertaining or create a dramatic visual effect.

  • All lighting is installed by qualified electricians

  • All lighting designs and installations come with a one year guarantee from Earthcraft.

Irrigation

Earthcraft offers a full design, installation and maintenance service for automated irrigation systems.

Whatever the size of project, we would install a system which is economical, highly efficient and cost effective.

For environmental reasons, water harvesting systems may be added. They collect rainwater or greywater (shower, sink, bath etc) which is channelled into storage containers above or below ground.

We use Rainbird irrigation throughout the design of your irrigation system - from pipe work, pop ups, drip leads, computer and sensors. Rainbird is recognised as the leading brand, with the entire range guaranteed for maximum water efficiency and durability.

 
 

Colleges and Schools

The colleges and schools services which Earthcraft provide are carefully designed and planned in conjunction with the college or school. We aim to create safe environments with relaxing spaces and attractive planting. This creates spaces for parents to relax while visiting the school or college and inspirational spaces for the students.

KNIGHT’S HILL ACADEMY

Part of Knights Academy is a house providing entrance and facilities to sports and recreational fields. After the rennovation of the house the final job was to landscape the gardens. Both front and rear gardens have a natural planting scheme.This was designed to eventually blend in with the surrounding woodland area.

An ongoing maintenance contract is in place.

 

Temple Grove School

The redevelopment of a South London school. A new entrance for parents and pupils was constructed as well as a separate gated area for staff and pupils.
Marshall paving is edged by red bricks to form the main feature. Steel fencing creates the divides between areas and a division between upper and lower schools. Trees and planting, benches and accessories complete a modern, open plan entrance.

An ongoing maintenance contract is in place.

 

Pembridge Hall

The front of house needed replanting at this West London school. We planted a tall hedge for privacy, along with other feature planting. Vegetable boxes and a greenhouse were also constructed on one of the roof areas for pupils. (We are unable to photograph any other areas of the school).

The commerical / corporate design and consultation services which Earthcraft provide are for larger projects:

Whether your requirements are for small gardens or large landscapes, private or commercial grounds, Earthcraft maintenance can cater for all your needs.

Tailor made maintenance contracts are arranged after site meetings. All work is carried out by highly trained and qualified horticulturalists and groundsmen. All maintenance contracts are overseen by Richard Day MIHort, founder and MD.

Tree Surgery

Earthcraft provides a reliable and professional tree surgery service with fully trained and experienced consultants, climbers and ground staff.

We make sure your trees are cared for and maintained with minimal disruption to you, your trees and their surroundings.

Aftercare

Once your garden has been built and planted, we provide an aftercare program so that your garden keeps looking good.

Various care sheets, for example: planting, lawns, irrigation systems, and decking are available on request.

All gardens built by Earthcraft are covered by a one year guarantee.
